2010 OMBAC "OTL" Tournament July 10, 2010

The Ertz Law Group was pleased to sponsor a team at this year's World Championship of "Over the Line" (OTL) on July 10, 2010 on Fiesta Island in San Diego. Half sporting event and half summer outdoor festival, Opening Day on Saturday was a blast! We appreciated all of our friends and volunteers who rocked their "Got Warrants?" apparel and gear in support of our team. Thank you. We wish to give special thanks to our players, "Crazy Chester", "Mayhem" and "Meatball" because you guys really put on a great show! We are pleased to announce the next The Ertz Law Group Event on August 14, 2010 at the Michael Godard Art Gallery and Store at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada! The evening commemorates the birthday of 2010 "Got Warrants?" model, Britney Iverson. As a tribute to Britney, world renowned artist, Joseph R. Davis, shall conduct a live art demonstration. Please join us for an evening of artistic indulgence and a festive atmosphere of celebration. As always, while supplies last, limited amounts of "Got Warrants?" apparel and gear will be given away. This is a limited event, so please contact us for details. This night is going to be amazing.

2012 OTL Tournament

On Saturday, July 14, 2012, the Ertz Law Group participated in our 3rd straight year of San Diego’s OTL Tournament created and sponsored by the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club [OMBAC].

Signing Up on Cinco de Mayo

Why do they make these sign-ups so early?! At 7:00 a.m. a line forms from the Beachcomber in South Mission Beach. Luckily we were able to make a lot of friends in line while wearing our "Got Warrants?"® Gear. Once our registration was completed, we got to enjoy the late morning with new friends from OMBAC.

 

 

Early Morning Festivities

Because we are usually in Court by 8:00 a.m. we were bright-eyed and bushy tailed for the festivities. One of the things that we like most about the OMBAC organizers of this event is that they have high respect for our country and its military. We were proud to be present during the presentation of our flag by a United States Marine Corps color guard.

 

 

Interview by the San Diego Union Tribune

The OTL Tournament is one of the last remaining all day beach parties in San Diego. There were even members of the press and one of our attorneys, Marcus E. DeBose was interviewed regarding the event.

Game Time!

Once the interviews are conducted and the flag is flowing it was time to get down to business and play some Over the Line (OTL)!

The rules: OTL is a form of 3 on 3 "beach softball." There are no "bases" and no running or sliding. Teams pitch to their own teammates and the defense must try to catch any balls that are hit "Over The Line." The "line" is about 55 feet away. This year we entered a men's team and a women's team. They played all 4 games like champions.

When the games were over for the day that's when the fun really began! We brought along tons of "Got Warrants?"® Gear to give away and enjoyed a great afternoon with friends both new and old.
