Education and Experience
Attorney Abby L. Ertz is the front line criminal defense litigator for The Ertz Law Group. Abby graduated Suma Cum Laude from Arizona State University where she made the Dean’s List every semester. She then went on to attend Thomas Jefferson School of Law where she was recognized on both the Honor Roll as well as the National Dean’s list before obtaining her doctorate. Immediately after obtaining her law license, she began her own law firm. Her law firm has been a success because she has developed a sincere dedication to putting the lives of all of her clients back on track by focusing on their individuality. This strategy has been repeatedly successful in helping Prosecutors and Judges to see her clients as more than just a case number and a list of charges. She has appeared in all 4 major branches of the San Diego Superior Court. A quick study, Abby’s first felony case involved an 18-year-old charged with residential burglary. The young man had previously suffered a prior burglary strike conviction. For weeks, Abby spent time getting to know the nuances of her client’s life story. At the Trial Readiness Conference she used her in-depth knowledge of the client to successfully negotiate an agreement for probation. After complying with the agreed upon probation conditions, the young man was permitted to get on with his life. Recently, in June 2010, Abby obtained a probation grant for a client of The Ertz Law Group. The case was remarkable because the client, charged in a multi-count felony vandalism and assault complaint, had previously been convicted and sentenced to State Prison.
